Membership Meeting Recap

On Saturday February 22nd, LVAG members met in Las Vegas. We filled our room with members and artist supporters as we recognized the Award Winners from our “Creative Inspiration” Online Art Gallery Show. Congratulations to our 2D and 3D Winners.

We took some time to get to know one another as we went around the room and shared who we are and what our prefered art medium. It was great to hear a little bit about everyone. Several of our artists were interested in spending time with other artists and collaborating on innovative ideas and techniques. If you are reading this post and are interested in collaborating please send us an email .

Kyle Fogarty, LVAG VP and Bobbie Maxvill, LVAG Pres, shared news about 2024 and the great events that took place. April LVAG did a donation drive and in May they participated in the Henderson Art Festival. June, July, and August were dedicated to finding our very own location. Although we were excited about the possibilities of each sight we saw, we quickly realized that without a significant increase in membership and a consistent income we would not be able to keep a location for long. It is for this reason we have started using an Online Art Gallery portal and we will continue to keep our eyes and ears open for a location that fits our needs.

We were, however, very excited to share that in September, October, and November we had three great events. September we brought our art to the Red Rock AUTOFEST. Our 13 artists set up their art under 1400 sq ft. of tent space. It was a beautiful day dispLaying and selling art that our LVAG artists had created. A great big shout out to all the artists and our family and friends who helped make this a wonderful event. Thank you also to Karen Orton, Project Manager and Chef William, Event Visionary, for your successful collaboration.

In October we partnered with 80 Doctors from the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority of the Philippines, in Henderson, NV. These women came to Henderson for a time of learning, sharing and celebration and their closing wellness workshop was with nine of our Las Vegas Artists Guild members in a painting workshop event. While it seemed like a daunting task Joyce Owens was able to guide each of the doctors to successfully complete the vision of Ericka Muecke. Shout outs to these two great artists and the Project Manager Nathalie Pecho. And another important shout out to our other LVAG members who assisted that afternoon. Thank you everyone.

In November LVAG participated in another event sponsored by the Red Rock Country Club where 12 of our LVAG artists were able to set up their art pieces in the Country Cub and sell their pieces to those guests who bought tickets for the Art and Wine Walk. Thanks again to Karen and Chef William for their hard work in making this vision come true.

We closed the year in December with nominations and elections of our LVAG Board. Without your nine committed board members and our volunteers like you, we would not be “Artists Helping Artists”.

2025 has started out well. We now have the “Creative Inspiration” Online Art Gallery Show on our LVAG Website and on the Show Submit Website. We have also opened submissions for a new Online Art Gallery Show for “Here Comes the Sun”. Each show will be eight weeks and the schedule is posted on our LVAG Website under 2025 Online Art Gallery Schedule.

LVAG is gearing up to do more community service projects. This time with various Veteran groups in Clark County. Our main service project will be conducting art workshops. Our goal is to present at least 6 workshops this year. Another project is working with the Heros 4 Horses organization and organizing a team to put up a mural at their location. We will keep you posted on the progress.

You can stay up to date through our Facebook and Instagram social media channels. Don’t forget to share the word with your family and friends using your social media channels and remember we are a volunteer organization. Anything you can do to help our organization to keep moving forward successfuly is always appreciated.
